Ever since her 23 month old son Jack died in 2010, Lucy Herd has been battling to get bereaved parents time off work after a child's death. Jack's Law has now been passed by Parliament so that from April 2020 bereaved parents now have the right to two weeks' leave if their child aged under 18 sadly dies. It was wrong that at such a difficult time, many people were forced to work within days of losing a beloved child. Thanks to Lucy, they now have at least this window.
